Several new, minimally invasive, in-office procedures that simply heat various internal nasal structures have been shown to provide long-term relief from symptoms of nasal congestion, nasal blockage and runny nose as well as associated symptoms such as cough, sneezing and nasal itching.
Simple and safe Radiofrequency energy allows these procedures to be performed under local anesthesia in the office, and only take about 20 minutes. In-office general anesthesia is also available for all procedures. Multiple proven versions of this technology are now available including Clarifix, Vivaer and Rhinaer.
Recovery time is minimal with a return to work likely the next day. A recent study’s findings, as published in the Journal of Allergy and Rhinology, demonstrated continued effectiveness when remeasured in 2 years. The physicians at Mann ENT have been performing this procedure for several years with excellent results noted in the vast majority of patients.
