A new category of therapy is revolutionizing the treatment of advanced sinusitis with nasal polyps at Mann ENT. Known as Biologics, these novel injectable medications have previously provided impressive results for conditions such as allergic asthma and atopic dermatitis, as well as very promising results in treating previously fatal cancers.

The FDA has recently approved a second injectable medication called Xolair for the treatment of polypoid sinusitis, which often required multiple surgeries in the past. In addition, the problematic side effects of chronic steroid use, which was the mainstay for treatment of resistant cases, may also be avoided. In addition to Dupixent, the first medication approved for the non-surgical treatment of nasal polyps and sinusitis, Xolair is a welcomed addition to our armamentarium.

These Biologics are dosed once or twice per month and may be self-injected at home if desired. The doctors at Mann ENT have seen already seen amazing results using these new medications, and look forward to discussing whether this treatment option is appropriate for you.
